Courtyard by Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive hotel portfolio, has made its entrance into Japan’s cultural heart with the Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Shijo Karasuma.

The contemporary property embodies comfort and purposeful hospitality, situated in the lively Shijo district that blends tradition with modern city energy. This opens the ninth Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Japan, marking an expansion of the brand’s presence.

Yuji Tanaka, Marriott International’s market vice-president for Japan and Guam, expressed his excitement: “We are delighted to introduce the Courtyard by Marriott experience to the historic city of Kyoto. The Courtyard brand is designed for today’s ambitious and passionate traveler. Whether traveling for business or leisure, our hotel will serve as an excellent base for exploring Kyoto.”

The hotel’s interiors are crafted by HBA, featuring 125 modern guest rooms decorated in contemporary Japanese motifs. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a 24-hour fitness center and dining options at Le Bon Vivre, offering a mix of local and Western cuisines.
