
Dubai Sets New Record with 8.68 Million Visitors in Five Months and 153,356 Hotel Rooms Available
Dubai attracts a remarkable influx of tourists, showcasing its global appeal and the growth of its hospitality sector.
Dubai continues to thrive as a global tourist destination. Between January and May 2025, it welcomed 8.68 million international visitors, marking a 7% increase compared to 8.12 million arrivals during the same period in 2024, as reported by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). In May alone, 1.53 million visitors came to the city, highlighting its sustained appeal year-round.
The report reveals a notable diversification in the source markets. Western Europe leads the list, contributing 22% of the total visitors (approximately 1.917 million). Following closely are Russia, the CIS, and Eastern Europe with 1.396 million (16%), and South Asia with 1.242 million (14%). The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region accounted for 1.275 million (15%), while the Middle East and North Africa had 989,000 visitors (11%). The Americas brought in 601,000 visitors (7%), Africa delivered 346,000 (4%), and Australia contributed 141,000 (2%).
Dubai’s hotel sector continues its growth trajectory. By the end of May 2025, the city had 825 hotel establishments offering a total of 153,356 rooms, up from 822 hotels and 150,202 rooms in May 2024. The average occupancy rate during the first five months was 83%, compared to 81% in the same period of 2024. Total overnight stays reached 19.09 million, a 4% increase from 18.34 million in 2024, with an average length of stay maintaining at 3.8 nights.
In terms of revenue, the average daily rate (ADR) per room reached 620 AED (approximately 148 EUR), a 5% increase from 590 AED (around 141 EUR) in the same period of 2024. Revenue per available room (RevPAR) was 513 AED (≈123 EUR), which represents a 7% increase compared to 478 AED (≈114 EUR) in 2024.
These figures reflect a sustained boost in Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sectors, bolstered by solid infrastructure, global connectivity, and a diverse range of experiences. This synergy positions Dubai as one of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations, capable of generating a continuous influx of visitors year-round.
