Inauguration of the Bamboo-Structured Garrya Mù Cang Chải

Garrya Mù Cang Chải, the largest bamboo-structured resort in the world, opens in Northern Vietnam, offering a unique blend of cultural authenticity and peaceful luxury.

Grand Opening of the Garrya Mù Cang Chải Resort

Garrya Mù Cang Chải has officially opened as the largest bamboo-structured resort worldwide, blending wellness, cultural authenticity, and quiet luxury. The resort, developed by the Banyan Group, is located 1,000 meters above sea level, nestled amidst Northern Vietnam’s iconic rice terraces and mist-shrouded peaks. This retreat is situated in the Mù Cang Chải district of Yen Bai province, a recognized National Heritage Landscape, and it marks the region’s first offering of internationally branded hospitality.

According to General Manager Thinh Phan: > “We didn’t set out to create just another retreat: we wanted to shape a place where the mountains themselves could do the talking. From the architecture to the guest journey, every detail is rooted in the land and its heritage, making the resort more than a luxury retreat. It’s a cultural destination where guests can slow down, listen inward and reconnect with what truly matters.”

Inspired by Nature and Culture

The resort was designed in partnership with esteemed Vietnamese architects, embracing local cultural symbols and rich traditions. Bamboo represents the Vietnamese people, while brocade motifs highlight the craftsmanship of the H’Mong community whose connection with the land has influenced the creation of these breathtaking rice terraces. The sweeping bamboo structures are harmoniously integrated into the terrain, providing panoramic views through expansive windows.

Comprising 110 rooms, suites, and villas, the resort emphasizes simplicity and natural beauty, showcasing private wellness areas and stunning valley-facing terraces. A scenic drive of approximately six hours from Hanoi takes you to Garrya Mù Cang Chải, a place that not only invites you to experience the mountains but also opens the door to Vietnam’s cultural soul. The resort offers easy access to notable sites such as Mam Xoi Hill and Khau Pha Pass, motivating guests to engage with the landscape and the heritage of the H’Mong people.
