This year’s ITM theme invites both locals and international visitors to explore Malaysia as a premier destination for Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH). Organized by the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), it highlights Malaysia’s beauty and diversity through activities such as Mosque Open Day and various cultural events.
Key Points of the ITM Campaign
The campaign this year spans eight categories:
- Mosque Open Day: Selected mosques will offer tours, exhibitions, and community activities to promote cultural understanding.
- Accommodation & Travel Packages
- Spa, Wellness & Healthcare
- Food & Beverages
- Events & Exhibitions
- Shopping & Retail
- Tourism Products & Theme Parks
This year’s initiative reflects Malaysia’s continued success in gaining recognition as the world’s preferred Muslim-friendly destination, maintaining its spot in the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) for the tenth consecutive year. The ITM encourages participation from various tourism sectors, enhancing branding exposure and market opportunities.
Invitation for Partnership
According to ITC’s Acting Director-General, Nur Alyssa Coraline Yussin, “The seeds planted in 2022 have blossomed into an event that reflects Malaysia’s warmth, diversity, and hospitality. We invite businesses to be part of this growing movement.”
The ITM has so far attracted over 300 participating organizations, contributing tremendous value to the national tourism landscape. It’s seen as a unique chance to promote an inclusive and values-driven tourism experience.
