Scoot Expands Network with New Flights to Chiang Rai, Okinawa, and Tokyo
Scoot, a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, announces new flights, enhancing holiday travel options.
Scoot Expands Network with New Flights
The announcement comes just in time as many travelers plan for their year-end holidays.
Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary Scoot announced the launch of new flight services to Chiang Rai in Thailand, Okinawa, and Tokyo (Haneda) in Japan earlier today, August 15. These flights will commence progressively between December 2025 and March 2026, with all services transiting through Singapore.
The new routes offer more options for holidaymakers planning their year-end and New Year travels, while providing a convenient stopover in Singapore en route to their final destination.
According to Scoot CEO Leslie Thng:
“We are thrilled to expand Scoot’s network in Asia with new routes to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), offering our customers even more travel options. Additionally, the upcoming increase in services to some cities will support stronger demand for air travel during the holiday periods. We are continually seeking opportunities to connect our customers with new travel experiences and memorable journeys.”
Translation: We are excited to expand our network within Asia, maximizing travel options for our customers, particularly during the holiday season.
A Wider Network with More Destinations
Scoot’s latest expansion follows a previous announcement last month of new routes to Da Nang and Nha Trang in Vietnam, as well as Kota Bharu in Malaysia. These services are set to roll out progressively between October and November 2025 on the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.
Scoot also plans to introduce flights to Medan and Labuan Bajo in Indonesia during the Northern Winter 2025 season, with schedules and further details expected to be announced shortly.
Pricing: One-way economy class fares start from 6,930 THB to Okinawa and 7,005 THB to Tokyo (Haneda), inclusive of taxes. The new flights are available for booking from today via Scoot’s website and mobile application.
With the launch of these new services, Scoot will operate 111 weekly flights to Thailand and 45 weekly flights to Japan.
Scoot currently offers routes to 76 destinations across 18 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
In Time for Holiday Planning
Additionally, Scoot will increase flight frequencies within its network to support anticipated demand for air travel during upcoming holiday periods.
In Southeast Asia, flights to Bangkok will increase from 35 to 39 times weekly starting August 2025. Frequencies to Chiang Mai will increase to 14 times weekly by December 2025, while services to Hat Yai will rise to 11 times weekly.
In Northern Asia and Europe, services to Tokyo (Narita) (via Taipei) will increase to 14 times weekly from October 2025. Flight frequencies to Sapporo will also rise to seven times weekly by December 2025.
