Thomas Vidal has been announced as the new General Manager at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills, bringing over 16 years of hospitality experience.
Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills has officially welcomed Thomas Vidal as its new general manager as of Friday, August 1st. Vidal brings more than 16 years of notable leadership experience within the hospitality sector throughout Asia.
His extensive expertise, honed over a decade in Japan, has allowed him to gain profound insight into the local culture and market.
Vidal expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, stating:

Meet Thomas Vidal
Vidal is a seasoned hotelier fluent in Japanese, showcasing a track record of operational excellence, employee empowerment, and guest-centric service.
His appointment is seen as a pivotal moment for Andaz Tokyo as it aims to solidify its status as a premier luxury lifestyle destination in the bustling heart of Tokyo.
Before joining Hyatt, he held numerous senior roles with renowned global hotel chains, most recently as hotel manager at W Osaka, which boasts 337 rooms. Under his stewardship, the property earned various accolades in 2024, including one MICHELIN Key and the Green Key Sustainability Certification.
Earlier roles included cluster general manager at Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya and Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya, as well as general manager at Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya, Moxy Osaka Shin Umeda, and Mercure Okinawa Naha. Throughout these positions, Vidal successfully managed pre-openings and operational recoveries, receiving praise for guest satisfaction, owner relationships, and associate engagement.
He is also an alum of ESSEC Business School Paris, where he obtained a Master of Science in Management (MBA), and completed advanced leadership programs, including Marriott International’s Luxury University, Basecamp Senior Leadership Training, and Accor’s IHMP General Management Programme.
