Global luxury and wellness-centric hospitality firm Banyan Group recently shared major updates that highlight its commitment to regenerative travel and wellbeing. Among the key announcements were:
- The upcoming opening of Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore, marking its 100th global property, set for November.
- The launch of the #ThisRightNow wellness movement.
- The global debut of the Banyan Tree Connections programme for tailored wellbeing journeys.
- The inauguration of Garrya Mu Cang Chai, its first Vietnamese mountain retreat.
Additionally, the company disclosed its 2024 Sustainability Report, showcasing impressive environmental advancements.
Key Highlights
New Openings and Mandai Rainforest Resort
Banyan Group is pushing forward into the latter half of 2025 with significant ventures across Asia, Africa, and Europe, peaking with the launch of Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore this November.
The Group has also ventured into safari hospitality with Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree Escape in Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park, delivering eco-luxury wildlife encounters. ON its 20th anniversary in China, the company is introducing five new locations along with a clean water initiative in Lijiang.
In recognition of its 30-year legacy in the Maldives, the company has been honored by the government for its sustainable tourism efforts.
The #ThisRightNow Wellness Initiative
In celebration of Global Wellness Day 2025 on June 14, Banyan Tree initiated #ThisRightNow, encouraging guests to reconnect with nature through rituals. This initiative was implemented in resorts from AlUla in Saudi Arabia to the Maldives.
Banyan Tree’s Connections Programme, featuring private wellness journeys, has also been launched in locations such as Phuket and will expand to Mayakoba and Anji later this year.
Introducing Garrya in Vietnam
This year, the company officially launched Garrya Mu Cang Chai, their first Garrya-branded resort in Vietnam, located amidst the stunning rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai Province. This 110-key retreat combines Asian aesthetics with a minimalist lifestyle, featuring wellness suites and spa services rooted in locality.
Visitors can indulge in regional cuisine at its dining venues or partake in wellness rituals and local experiences, redefining mindful travel in northern Vietnam.
2024 Sustainability Report
On Earth Day 2025, Banyan Group published its 2024 Sustainability Report, One Banyan, One Sustainable Future. The report highlights substantial progress in climate action, community contributions, and conservation efforts, showing a 5.7% reduction in emissions intensity and 5.1% improvement in water efficiency.
