Record Participation and Historic Fundraising
This year, the gala brought together 682 attendees, setting a new record far exceeding the 620 participants from last year, marking the evening as a benchmark for charitable events in Spain. The crowd reflects the growing sensitivity and commitment of the Marbella community to the cause, as shown by a total fundraising of 250,000 euros through ticket sales, auctions, raffles, and contributions, illustrating the solid backing from both locals and visitors.
The funds raised will be fully allocated to research projects, social care, and free support programs for patients and families in Marbella. In 2024, the association aided 395 patients and their families, providing more than 1,200 sessions of psychological support and assistance services, showing that this gala truly impacts the fight against cancer in the region.
A Show of Innovation and Thanks
A highlight of the evening was an innovative drone show designed by Umiles, a leading company in Spain for this technology. The aerial choreography formed different geometric shapes, culminating in the recreation of the AECC logo along with a message of gratitude to the city of Marbella. This spectacle, which has participated in international events and in film and sports campaigns, showcased the technological and creative talent accompanying the night, symbolizing hope and unity.
Honor, Recognition, and Solidarity
The event also served as a platform to present the fourth edition of the “The Fighter” award, aimed at recognizing individuals and institutions that contribute to normalizing the realities of cancer and offering hope to those battling the disease. This time, the accolade went to actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta, who via a video from New Mexico expressed his gratitude and highlighted the importance of healthcare workers and science in the cancer fight. The gala also paid tribute to various companies and entities that continuously support the cause, including Puerto Banús Marbella 1970, Miguel Manzanares Abogados, Soma Arquitectos, Fundación Recoletas Salud, the Marbella City Council, and CaixaBank, among others, all strengthening solidarity efforts in the region.
