Tobu Railway in Japan Launches Digital Ticketing Service for Travelers

Tobu Railway introduces a new digital platform enabling tourists to book tickets conveniently from their smartphones.

Tobu Railway Launches New Ticketing Platform

Tobu Railway has officially rolled out the TOBU Japan Trip Tickets, a digital ticketing service specifically designed for inbound tourists. This innovative platform facilitates easy travel across eastern Japan, allowing international visitors to purchase rail and bus tickets in advance via their smartphones, thus avoiding long queues at station counters.

Travelers can book tickets for limited express trains such as the award-winning SPACIA X, secure reserved seating on the nostalgic SL Taiju steam train, and acquire various area passes like the NIKKO PASS and KAWAGOE DISCOUNT PASS. Each booking enables travelers to manage up to eight tickets, which can be shared with companions.

To utilize the tickets effectively, every individual, even those sharing a booking, must register their email on the official platform. The enhanced English support aims to make railway travel more user-friendly and accessible for visitors in Japan.
