Philip Bowcock Appointed as New CEO of Travelex

Travelex has announced the appointment of Philip Bowcock as the new CEO, succeeding Richard Wazacz.

Global foreign exchange company Travelex has appointed Philip Bowcock as its new CEO, effective immediately, taking over from Richard Wazacz, who has held the position for the past three years.

Alexander Filshie, chairman of Travelex, stated, “This announcement signifies the next phase in our journey at Travelex, aimed at aligning with evolving customer needs and industry challenges, while reinforcing our foundation for sustainable success. I am confident that Philip will propel our strategic objectives and enhance our retail and wholesale operations. He brings extensive experience from consumer-focused and travel money sectors, positioning him well to lead Travelex amidst the shifting global travel money landscape.”

Meet Philip Bowcock:
Philip recently served as executive chair of NM Money Group, encompassing several consumer-facing financial services including Eurochange, a leading foreign exchange retailer in the UK. Previously, he held the roles of CFO and CEO at William Hill plc, overseeing significant business transformation. In March 2021, he successfully led Countrywide plc through its sale to Connells. Currently, he chairs Victoria Plumbing Group plc and possesses a proven track record in guiding consumer-focused, multi-site businesses with a robust digital presence, coupled with prior finance roles at Cineworld Group, Luminar, Barratt Developments, and Tesco.
