Collaboration Between Indonesian Tourism Ministry and Balinese Government to Enhance Quality Tourism

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with the provincial government of Bali to advance sustainable and high-quality tourism initiatives on the island.

This cooperative effort addresses vital issues

As a response to ongoing challenges, particularly the impact of overtourism, this joint initiative is crucial. Tourism Minister Widyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized that Bali remains a primary destination for both domestic and international travelers.

However, key issues need urgent attention, including unlicensed accommodations, spatial planning, traffic congestion, and waste management. Furthermore, the ministry underscores the importance of promoting less frequented areas in Bali.

Wardhana stated,

“We also acknowledge the challenges related to the behavior of certain tourists in Bali. We will continue working to educate visitors through cooperation with Indonesian embassies and other partners.”

This comprehensive approach aims to ensure the sustainability and quality of Bali’s tourism for the future.
