Qatar Airways Leads the Sky: Full-Fleet Starlink Wi-Fi Now Operational
Qatar Airways has integrated SpaceX's Starlink internet service across its Boeing 777 fleet, enabling fast Wi-Fi for all passengers.
Qatar Airways has proudly achieved the status of the foremost airline globally, equipped with Starlink satellite internet services across its Boeing 777 fleet. The implementation, completed in July 2025, enhances in-flight connectivity, offering up to 500 Mbps Wi-Fi speed, freely accessible for all passengers from gate to gate.
Recently honored with the title of World’s Best Airline by Skytrax 2025, Qatar Airways now operates 54 aircraft with Starlink technology, solidifying its position as the largest global operator of long-haul aircraft with such capabilities. Initially a two-year project, the installation was accelerated to just nine months, streamlining the retrofit process to an impressive 9.5 hours per aircraft.
“This new milestone demonstrates our strategic investment in redefining our passengers’ expectations,” asserted Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Group CEO of Qatar Airways. “We promised the fastest, most seamless in-flight connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink, we have delivered it faster and at an unmatched scale.”
Since introducing the first Starlink-enabled 777 in October 2024, the airline has facilitated over 15,000 connected flights. The next step includes extending this high-speed satellite Wi-Fi to its Airbus A350 fleet within a year, enhancing connectivity on even more international routes.
