Frasers Hospitality Celebrates the Launch of Tokyo's YOTEL Ginza

Frasers Hospitality has officially opened its first ever ground-up development in Japan, the YOTEL Tokyo Ginza, located in a prime region of the city.

Frasers Hospitality marked yet another milestone with the official opening of YOTEL Tokyo Ginza, its first ground-up development and investment in Japan.

Located in the heart of Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most iconic neighbourhoods, the 244-room lifestyle hotel reflects Frasers Hospitality’s strategy of unlocking value in high-potential gateway cities across Asia through brand-agnostic partnerships and disciplined capital deployment.

Chief Executive Eu Chin Fen commented on the recently-opened development: “YOTEL Tokyo Ginza integrates our strengths and expertise in investment, development and asset management while enabling us to be responsive to local market dynamics. Japan is a strategic market for our long-term growth, and we are proud to debut a distinctive product that caters to the evolving preferences of today’s modern travellers. This ground-up development exemplifies how we create and unlock value across the real estate cycle.”

The hotel was completed within budget and ahead of schedule, despite challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. It welcomed its first guests in December 2024 and celebrated its official launch in June.

This landmark hotel has maintained a healthy occupancy level exceeding 70% since its soft opening, ideally situated near Shimbashi station, attracting both domestic and international travelers.

The right partner for development YOTEL was appointed as the operating partner leveraging its design-led, tech-enabled approach suited for Tokyo’s high-density market. The modular ‘cabins’ allow for an efficient layout that balances guest comfort and potential returns.

As part of its ongoing strategy, Frasers Hospitality is also preparing for the opening of Modena by Fraser Shenzhen, scheduled for Q4 2025, aimed at a growing demographic of urban professionals and expatriates.

Focused on the future Frasers Hospitality remains committed to creating long-term value through strategic investments and tailored management strategies, ensuring resilience and sustainable performance across market cycles.
