Goa Prepares for Shigmo, Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, and Carnaval Celebrations

The state of Goa is gearing up for its famous festivals, including Shigmotsav, Carnaval, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, promising grand celebrations in early 2025.

Goa is going to celebrate its renowned festivals—Shigmotsav, Carnaval, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti—with grand enthusiasm. On January 24, 2025, Rohan A. Khaunte, along with GTDC Chairman Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik, and Managing Director of GTDC Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, held meetings with the organizing committees for these festivities. They focused on logistical planning and promotional strategies to ensure a successful execution of events.

The discussions led to a press conference announcing the festivities’ details, with Kedar Naik declaring that Carnaval will occur from February 28 to March 4, 2025. Events include parades across various towns, providing vibrant celebrations that promise to attract both tourists and locals.

Moreover, the Shigmo Festival, a 15-day cultural event, will commence from March 15 to March 29, 2025. Events are scheduled in various localities where traditional performances and colorful floats will highlight the state’s rich heritage.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is slated for February 19, 2025, with a special grant allocated for various committees to enhance these celebrations.

These festive preparations showcase Goa’s commitment to preserving its rich traditions while simultaneously promoting tourism.
