Qatar Airways has successfully equipped 54 Boeing 777 aircraft with Starlink technology, ensuring that the world’s largest fleet of widebody aircraft now provides high-speed Wi-Fi. This service is free for passengers and available on more global routes than ever before.

Originally anticipated to take two years, the Starlink installation was wrapped up in just nine months, significantly ahead of schedule. The time taken for each retrofit was reduced from three days to just 9.5 hours, allowing for minimal disruption to flight operations.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways’ Group CEO, stated: “This new milestone demonstrates our strategic investment in redefining our passengers’ expectations. We promised the fastest, most seamless in-flight connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink we have delivered it faster and at an unmatched scale.”

Passengers in both Premium and Economy classes can enjoy complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi with speeds up to 500 Mbps. Whether for streaming, gaming, or work, the experience is designed to be as reliable as home internet.

Building on this achievement, Qatar Airways is now working to install Starlink on its Airbus A350 fleet, planning to complete this rollout within the next year.

Since introducing the first Boeing 777 equipped with Starlink in October 2024, Qatar Airways has successfully conducted over 15,000 flights with Starlink connectivity, setting new standards in modern travel.
