Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has formally announced that Nick Downing will serve as the general manager of The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok, expected to launch in late 2026.

In this significant leadership position, Downing will lead the much-anticipated opening of this riverside hotel. LHG’s regional vice-president for operations in Asia, Sherona Shng, underscored that this hiring is a strong message of intent.

Shng stated: “The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok will be among the most unique and sought-after hotels in the area. Nick’s talent for transforming properties into cultural icons, emphasizing relationships and community, makes him the ideal leader for this venture.”

A seasoned veteran in luxury hospitality, Downing brings more than 30 years of experience acquired in Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Indian Ocean. He is noted for transforming new luxury hotels into prominent destinations for distinguished global travelers. Most recently, as the general manager of The Siam, Bangkok, he guided the independent urban resort to international recognition, including a spot on the World’s 50 Best Hotels list and a three-key Michelin rating.
