Cathay Pacific has officially launched its new Digital and IT office in Shenzhen, marking a significant expansion in its operations within Mainland China.
Cathay Pacific has inaugurated its newest Digital and IT office at the Qianhai Kerry Centre in Shenzhen with a formal ceremony held on July 8.
The event featured Jiang Likun, the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, along with Wen Ping, Deputy Director-General of the Qianhai Authority. They were joined by key executives from Cathay, including CEO Ronald Lam, Mainland Director Arnold Cheng, and IT Director Lawrence Fong.

Cathay is set to increase its Digital and IT workforce in the Mainland to over 200 by the end of 2025, a substantial growth from prior years. The company will also extend its Digital & IT Graduate Trainee Programme to more cities in the GBA, collaborating with local universities to nurture tech talent.
In addition, the annual Cathay Hackathon will take place in November 2025, aimed at fostering innovation by uniting young talents from Hong Kong and the Mainland.
