Cargo services from China’s Shandong Airlines have officially commenced at Clark International Airport in the Philippines.
In a social media announcement dated July 4, the Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corporation (LIPAD) expressed that “The additional route connecting Shenzhen and Clark enhances cargo connectivity between the Philippines and China.”
The implementation of Shandong Airlines cargo services is a part of LIPAD’s objectives to position Clark Airport as a premier logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
A Growing Hub for Cargo
Before Shandong Airlines’ introduction, the Clark Civil Aviation Complex was already identified as a key contender to evolve into a competitive logistics center in Southeast Asia.
In addition to Shandong Airlines, other notable air freight companies operating from Clark include UPS and FedEx, alongside carriers like Tianjin Air Cargo, Jiangsu Jingdong Cargo Airlines, China Postal Airlines, Central Airlines, and Skyway Airlines.
Shandong Airlines is based in Jinan, China, and is a subsidiary of Air China.
