Direct Flights from Mumbai to Amsterdam Launched by IndiGo

IndiGo has inaugurated direct flights between Mumbai and Amsterdam, marking another step in its international expansion.

IndiGo has reached a significant milestone by launching direct flights between CSM International Airport in Mumbai and Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. This marks the airline’s second long-haul route, following the successful service to Manchester introduced recently. The launch is a key part of IndiGo’s strategy to enhance its international presence and elevate India’s status in global aviation.

The new Mumbai-Amsterdam service will operate three times weekly using IndiGo’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Schiphol Airport is renowned as one of the busiest airports globally and serves as a major European hub. This initiative is designed to expand the airline’s rapidly growing international network and enhance accessibility, efficiency, and affordability of long-haul travel for Indian passengers.

Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, stated:

“Expanding our reach in Europe, we are thrilled to introduce our Mumbai-Amsterdam flights, linking India more closely with the world. Our focus is on providing a seamless travel experience at valuable rates, boosting direct travel between India and Europe. This route will enhance connectivity for leisure, business, and educational travelers while strengthening the cultural, economic, and diplomatic ties between India and the Netherlands.”

The Boeing 787-9 aircraft, leased from Norse Atlantic Airways, is designed with a spacious double-aisle layout and includes 56 comfortable IndiGoStretch seats, alongside 282 economy class seats, all featuring in-flight entertainment options encompassing over 300 hours of movies and TV shows.
