Air Arabia Introduces Direct Flights to Sochi, Expanding Connectivity with Russia

The low-cost carrier Air Arabia has launched a new route connecting Sharjah to the Russian city of Sochi, enhancing travel options between the UAE and Russia.

Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, has launched flights to Sochi, Russia with six weekly services. This route marks Sochi as the sixth Russian city reachable directly from Sharjah, joining Moscow, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, and Yekaterinburg, and expands Air Arabia’s network across the region.

Adel Al Ali, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, remarked: “We are delighted to inaugurate non-stop flights to Sochi, enhancing our connectivity with Russia. This expansion provides our customers with an economical and convenient air travel option and fosters tourism and trade links between our countries.”

“Currently, Sochi is evolving into an international hub, welcoming more foreign tourists while offering diverse travel opportunities to Russian citizens. The UAE is a top destination for so many travelers using the airport. The Emirate of Sharjah now becomes the third city in the UAE linked to Sochi Airport, reinforcing the strengthening bilateral relations between our nations,” noted Alexey Starostin, CEO of Aerod, the managing company of Sochi Airport.

With this addition, Air Arabia effectively serves Russia from three UAE airports: Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah. This initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to boosting connections between the UAE and Russia while promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges.
