Cebu Pacific Achieves IOSA Renewal Amid Expansion Efforts
Cebu Pacific, a leading low-cost carrier in the Philippines, has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration. This renewal highlights the airline’s strong commitment to safety as it undertakes significant expansion initiatives.
This renewal represents the first time Cebu Pacific has achieved IOSA renewal under the new Risk-Based IOSA framework, which leverages data-driven methodologies introduced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to improve safety assessments.
Having originally obtained its IOSA registration in 2018, Cebu Pacific has continuously passed the required biennial audits.
According to Javier Massot, the Chief Operations Officer of Cebu Pacific, “The IOSA renewal reflects the strength of our internal safety processes and the culture of excellence we uphold in our operations. Safety has always been at the core of what we do, and we are proud to meet global benchmarks as we continue to expand our network.”

In addition to its IOSA renewal, Cebu Pacific has garnered global recognition for its safety performance. Recently, AirlineRatings.com listed the airline among the world’s safest low-cost carriers (LCCs), noting its strong safety record and investment in an upgraded fleet.
To support its fleet modernization plans, the airline signed a significant agreement with Airbus to purchase up to 152 A320neo aircraft, marking the largest order in Philippine aviation history. This purchase is integral to Cebu Pacific’s transition towards an all-NEO fleet, enhancing fuel efficiency and sustainability.
