Laura Chaplin, the granddaughter of the legendary Charlie Chaplin, will host an exclusive exhibition of her works in Marbella, aiming to create a cultural gathering that intertwines art, history, and joy. The show is set to open on July 4 at the Gomez & Molina Joyeros art space, featuring around twenty pieces that merge figurative art, pop art, and surrealism.
Originally from Vevey, Switzerland, Laura embraces her familial roots while carving her unique artistic path. She grew up in Manoir de Ban, her grandfather’s last residence, now a museum called “Chaplin’s World”. It was within those dreamlike walls that her passion for art and horses blossomed early on. With a desire to extend her grandfather’s legacy, Laura seeks to express his humanism and zest for life through each artwork.
Her artistic journey has been enriched through extensive travel and a solid background in fashion; she graduated from the European Fashion Design Federation in June 2009. Besides her artistic endeavors, Laura has modeled for various magazines and brands, and in 2006 launched “Miss Fashion TV,” a live show broadcast to over 170 countries, earning her recognition in fashion and television.
However, her talents extend beyond art and fashion; Laura has participated in numerous international workshops and lectures focused on the themes of laughter and joy, advocating for the power of humor and happiness in enhancing people’s lives.
Laura stated, “Marbella and its light are perfect for showcasing my work. It is a city that exudes joy where smiles and beauty are a daily reality. For me, that energy resonates in my art and projects.” The exhibition will be available for public viewing from July 5 to 17, from 11 AM to 8 PM, aiming to deliver a message of hope, love, and optimism reflective of her grandfather’s values.
