Singapore’s Run For Hope Returns This November
The iconic Run For Hope event, celebrating its 32nd edition this year, is set to take place on November 23 at Marina Barrage. Jointly organized by the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and the National Cancer Centre Singapore, this annual event has established itself as a key fixture in Singapore’s running calendar.
What to Expect
Registration for Run For Hope 2025 opened on June 16. Participants can choose between a 5km or a 10km run, all while supporting cancer research initiatives in Singapore.
Peter Draminsky, Four Seasons’ regional vice-president and general manager, shared: “Run For Hope has grown into more than just a run. It’s a heartfelt tradition that brings our people together in the spirit of solidarity and compassion. Each year we are inspired by stories of resilience from our community.”
Participants can look forward to various activities throughout the day, featuring wellness booths, games, and engaging experiences aimed at fostering hope and healing. In 2024, the event attracted over 5,000 participants and raised more than SG$216,000 for cancer research. This year, Run For Hope aims to continue promoting vital cancer research efforts.
The Ongoing Challenge
Despite advancements in early detection and treatment, cancer remains a significant threat, with nearly 29,901 deaths reported between 2018 and 2022. Lim Soon Thye, the chief executive of NCCS, noted that every contribution aids impactful research for earlier diagnoses and improved treatments.
“Each step we take in Run For Hope contributes to a greater cause, and together let us continue to make strides towards improving the lives of those affected by cancer,” Lim stated.
