Announcing the Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025

A major initiative aimed at enhancing cultural and tourism connections between Cambodia and China.

Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism has officially launched plans for the highly anticipated Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025. This initiative, confirmed by Chuk Chumno, the director-general of the ministry’s Tourism Development and International Cooperation, aims to bolster cultural and tourism links between the two countries.

The program was conceived following Chinese President Xi Jin Ping’s state visit to Cambodia, with a goal to enhance collaboration and attract more Chinese tourists, thereby deepening bilateral relations.

The events planned for the year will showcase the rich cultural heritage of both nations, including an international music festival, a street art festival, martial arts exhibitions, and a tourism conference. A tourism business forum is also included to promote deeper cooperation in the sector.

In addition, there will be a visit from a Chinese media delegation to promote Cambodia-China film tourism, as well as an international music festival in either Siem Reap or Phnom Penh to serve as a cultural exchange platform.

These activities will feature performances of traditional Cambodian Bassac theatre and Chinese opera to engage audiences with both cultures.
