ANA Upgrades In-Flight Internet Service

ANA improves its in-flight internet connectivity by adding video streaming capabilities on most aircraft, enhancing passenger experience on both domestic and international flights.

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest and a 5-Star airline for the past 12 years, has announced enhancements to its in-flight internet service. These upgrades are designed to provide a richer experience for customers, expanding functionality for both domestic and international routes.

In 2024, ANA introduced complimentary service for Business Class passengers and free text messaging for Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers. Now, the airline is set to expand free in-flight internet service across all flight categories.

Domestic Routes
ANA will enhance its internet services by enabling video streaming, following a substantial increase in bandwidth for communication between aircraft and satellites. This improvement will be available on all domestic flights and on the A320neo international aircraft starting June 13. Previously, the internet service was limited to browsing and emailing.

International Routes
The in-flight internet service on the B767-300ER, which was temporarily halted, will resume in August after upgrades to the latest internet technologies from Viasat. High-speed internet, including video streaming, will be provided free of charge across all classes.

Additionally, ANA plans to equip future international aircraft and renovate existing ones (excluding B767-300ERs) with the latest internet technology. By the end of 2030, free, high-speed internet is expected to be available in all classes on over 80% of its international fleet.
