Around 70,000 pilgrims from over 100 nations are set to arrive in Rome this weekend for the Jubilee of Movements, as reported by Vatican News. The event commences on June 7 and concludes on June 8.
Attendees
The Vatican is gearing up to welcome substantial pilgrimage groups from countries including Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Portugal, Poland, the United States, Canada, and many more. Participants will include members of religious groups such as the Neocatechumenal Way and Catholic Shalom Community.
Highlights of the Event
- The Jubilee will commence with a pilgrimage through the Papal Basilicas’ Holy Doors, happening from 8 AM to 6 PM on Saturday.
- Participants will gather in St. Peter’s Square for the Prayer Vigil with the Pope at around 4 PM.
- Live music and performances will take place before the pre-vigil rite, featuring a 130-member international choir and testimonies from several notable individuals, including Hussam Abu Sini, an advocate for peace.
An Evening with the Pope
On Saturday night, Pope Leo XIV will lead the Pentecost Vigil, which includes a Liturgy of the Word and a Renewal of Baptismal Promises. The next day, he will officiate the Eucharistic Celebration at 10:30 AM in St. Peter’s Square to conclude the Jubilee of Movements.
Note: Tickets are not necessary for the Mass, allowing all pilgrims to partake.
