A select group of over 200 flyers were able to experience the next generation of comfort on American with the launch of Flagship Suite and new Premium Economy seats.
The first aircraft outfitted with American Airlines newest cabin is now serving the domestic public before going on international tour.
The Fort Worth-based airline announced the first flight of their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner equipped with new Flagship Suites and Premium Economy options, traveling from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Preview Flight Includes Gift Bag, New Amenity Kit
The over 200 passengers aboard the inaugural flight were treated to several gifts and experiences from American, including gift bags with flight tags designed specifically for the flight.
For the 51 passengers traveling in the Flagship Suites, they were given a revitalized forward cabin trip. Each suite has chaise lounge seating with a wireless charging pad, multiple power outlets, and an adjustable headrest. When the product begins flying internationally, those flyers will begin their trip in the American Flagship lounge before boarding. At departure, guests will get a new Brandon Blackwood amenity kit, duvet blanket, and dual-sided pillow featuring cool-touch fabric on one side. Travelers will also get a multi-course meal paired with an award-winning wine selection.
In Premium Economy, travelers also get a new seat redesigned with headrest wings for additional privacy, and a calf rest for added comfort. The seats also get a wireless charging pad, AC and USB-C power outlets, and a water bottle storage space to maximize their space.
The flight with the first re-designed cabin coincides with American’s launch of several international routes for the summer months. Some of the routes launching today include service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Athens International Airport (ATH) in Greece.
