The new facility will commence operations in H2-2026

Airbus bolsters its dedication to aviation safety through the expansion of its Helicopter Training Academy located in Malaysia. The initiative includes the addition of a third full-flight simulator (FFS) in Subang, Malaysia.

This facility is anticipated to begin operations in the latter half of 2026, reflecting Airbus’ commitment to meet growing training demands in the region.

Bringing in New Technologies

This simulator, the first of its kind outside Europe, joins the H225 and AS365 models to enhance learning experiences, combined with digitized classrooms and virtual trainers. These improvements support various training needs, including pilot type rating and operational proficiency in critical flight scenarios.

In the words of Romain Trapp, “This latest investment underscores our dedication to aviation safety and customer proximity. By expanding our training capabilities in Malaysia, we are ensuring that pilots and mechanics in Asia-Pacific have access to world-class facilities designed to enhance safety and readiness.”

Currently, the Airbus Helicopters simulator center in Malaysia has provided over 21,000 training hours to about 2,600 pilots. The new H175 FFS is poised to further increase capacity and contribute significantly to regional aviation safety.

In addition, the updated training center will feature advanced simulation technology with Level D training capabilities and cutting-edge avionics systems to elevate pilot proficiency and operational safety.
