
The Return of Carmen: A Spectacular Opera Experience at Anantara Villa Padierna
This summer, the enchanting performance of Georges Bizet's opera 'Carmen' returns to Anantara Villa Padierna, celebrating its 150th anniversary with a unique version that blends art, nature, and unforgettable sensations.
The magic of opera returns to the Costa del Sol with a unique event in the spectacular natural setting of Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort. This summer, the resort’s outdoor amphitheater transforms into an intimate and vibrant stage for the iconic work “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, which celebrates its 150th anniversary with a special version that combines art, nature, and unforgettable sensations.
After its success in previous seasons, the production returns with its “Boutique Opera” format, brought to life by Classical Passion Productions and directed by the renowned musician and cultural manager Anabel Sánchez. The first performance is scheduled for June 12, with additional performances on July 3 and 24, August 14 and 28, and September 18.
More than just a musical representation, “Carmen” at Anantara Villa Padierna is a sensory experience that fuses artistic excellence with an incomparable natural stage. The adaptation, lasting 75 minutes and focused on the most famous arias and duets, features a talented cast: Carmen Serrano (mezzo-soprano), Manuel de Diego (tenor), Andrés Pérez Merino (baritone), and Carolina de Alba (soprano), accompanied on piano by Tomasso Cogato and Manuel Bracho. The staging revives timeless melodies such as the Habanera, the Seguidilla, the Toreador’s song, and the aria “La fleur que tu m’avais jetée,” which have transcended generations and continue to captivate audiences of all ages.
To enhance the experience, attendees can enjoy a pre-show dinner at two of the resort’s most exclusive restaurants: La Veranda, offering a three-course menu and house wines for €110, or 99 Sushi Bar, with a delightful tasting menu and pairing for €145.
