Delta Airlines has been named the Top U.S. Airline for 2024 by The Wall Street Journal. It’s the fourth consecutive year Delta has achieved this ranking.
The Journal tracks seven crucial operational and customer metrics among nine U.S. airlines. It noted that Delta excelled in nearly every category, including first place for on-time arrivals and fewest involuntary bumpings (also known as involuntary denied boardings). Delta also ranked closely behind in canceled flights.
“This honor is a reflection of our people’s dedication to providing safe, reliable service and delivering a premium experience for our customers,” said John Laughter, Delta Chief of Operations. “Every flight, every innovation, and every memory we create for our customers is thanks to our team of resilient aviation professionals who constantly strive for excellence. An award is never a finish line in this business. We have our sights set even higher in 2025 and beyond.”
(Translation: “This honor reflects our commitment to offering safe and reliable service and delivering an exceptional experience for our customers.”)
This recognition from The Wall Street Journal follows shortly after Delta’s acknowledgment for operational excellence from Cirium, confirming Delta’s status as North America’s most on-time airline in 2024 and its receipt of the Platinum Award for Operational Excellence for the fourth consecutive year.
The Platinum Award is given to airlines that maintain outstanding on-time performance while managing complex operations and minimizing disruptions for passengers. This accolade reinforces the airline’s reputation for reliability. Delta continues to be recognized for its excellence in various aspects, including customer service, operational performance, and workplace culture.
