Jazeera Airways is ready to restart direct flights between Kuwait and Damascus, Syria. Regional airlines within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have already resumed their services to Syria, and Jazeera Airways will do the same as soon as they obtain regulatory approval.

The decision to resume flights is driven by strong demand from the substantial Syrian community in Kuwait, which counts around 200,000 members, alongside a growing interest in rebuilding business, cultural, and family connections between the two countries. Earlier, Jazeera Airways offered flights to Damascus, Aleppo, and Deir Ez Zoor and is now primed to restore this essential link.

Marwan Boodai, the Chairman of Jazeera Airways, expressed excitement regarding the move, stating: “We are thrilled to operate in Syria after a 12-year gap. Resuming direct flights to Damascus will create a crucial connection for thousands of Syrians in Kuwait while also assisting broader regional initiatives to reconnect with Syria. We are fully prepared to start operations just after we secure the necessary regulatory approvals.”

Multiple GCC nations, like Qatar and the UAE, alongside others in the Middle East such as Jordan and Turkey, have already reinstated or announced plans to resume aviation connections with Syria, acknowledging the increasing necessity for regional cohesion and the normalization of air travel relations.

Jazeera Airways is dedicated to maintaining the highest operational and safety standards aligned with international aviation norms. Once approved, they plan to offer daily direct services to Damascus and may expand to additional Syrian cities shortly.
