Emirates is poised to reintroduce flights to Damascus from July 16, 2025. Operations to the Syrian capital were halted in 2012; the resumption follows a thorough evaluation alongside the UAE GCAA.
- Initially, three weekly services will be operated on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday, expanding to four weekly flights by August 2, with daily services starting October 26.
- The flights will allow travelers to connect with nearly 150 destinations through Emirates’ network.
- A Boeing 777-200LR will operate these services, with flights planned to depart Dubai as EK 913 at 12:00, arriving in Damascus at 14:10. The return flight will leave at 16:30.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates, stated:
“Emirates is pleased to restart operations to Damascus… and open new trade lanes for the country.”
The UAE-Syria trade reached $680 million in 2024, marking a 23% rise from the previous year, with these new flights set to bolster trade ties further.
