Abercrombie & Kent Celebrates 35 Years in Expedition Cruising with Three New Journeys

Global luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) marks its 35th anniversary in the expedition cruise sector with the introduction of three new voyages for 2026.

From the rugged coasts of the British Isles and pristine Arctic wilderness of Svalbard to the sun-kissed archipelagos of French Polynesia, these new journeys promise immersive experiences, unmatched comfort, and the expertise that A&K is renowned for.

A&K’s portfolio for 2026-2027 presents 15 Expedition Cruises, traversing the Arctic, Antarctica, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and the remote Pacific Islands.

Each voyage is backed by A&K’s acclaimed Expedition Team, whose extensive expertise and local insights ensure every journey is enlightening and extraordinary.

Vice-president for expedition cruising, Stefan Kredel, highlights the voyages: “We have harnessed over three decades of expedition cruising expertise to craft itineraries that venture far beyond typical cruise routes – to locations like St Kilda, Britain’s most remote point in the North Atlantic and the Marquesas in French Polynesia, offering varied experiences from local communities, breathtaking snorkeling, and scenic, challenging hikes. These transformative adventures take place in areas rarely visited, elevated by A&K’s signature style.”

Where Adventure Meets Luxury

What was once a daring way to view wildlife in remote locations has evolved into a luxury adventure with unprecedented comfort and access across these new voyages for 2026.

  • Exploring the Wild Coasts of the British Isles (May 26 - June 5, 2026): Experience the British Isles beyond the ordinary aboard Le Champlain. Starting from Portsmouth, guests will explore Guernsey’s WWII history, the gardens of the Isles of Scilly, birdwatching for puffins off Wales, hiking in the wild Scottish Hebrides, and tasting whisky in the Orkney archipelago. Dive into smaller, lesser-visited sites via Zodiacs for a true expedition experience.

  • An Arctic Wildlife Expedition in Svalbard (July 3 - 11, 2026): Travel north of the Arctic Circle to Svalbard, a remote group of Norwegian islands shaped by glaciers, surrounded by pristine waters teeming with whales, seals, and walruses. Cruise aboard the exclusively chartered Le Lyrial, led by A&K’s acclaimed Expedition Team, indulging in Zodiac excursions with naturalist guides in pursuit of arctic wildlife like walruses and reindeer.

  • Cruising French Polynesia: Tahiti and Beyond (September 18 - October 4, 2026): Immerse yourself in the diverse cultures and untouched islands of French Polynesia aboard Le Jacques-Cartier. Engage with local artisans, visit uninhabited atolls, trek to secluded waterfalls, and explore Paul Gauguin’s resting place while seeking out tiki, petroglyphs, and archaeological relics on the Marquesas. Enjoy snorkeling with marine life or simply relax on the idyllic beaches.
