Jordan’s tourism sector is showing strong signs of recovery
Jordan has welcomed around 2.125 million international visitors between January and April 2025, representing a 19% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects growing interest in Jordan as a travel destination, showcasing the importance of tourism to the national economy, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) was the leading entry point, accounting for 33.1% of arrivals with over 705,000 visitors. Significant contributions also came from land crossings, particularly the Omari crossing (23.8% of total entries).
Petra has seen a surge in tourists attracted by live music events and cultural performances, prompting travel agencies to create curated packages that include concert tickets and luxury accommodations. The sector’s growth necessitates continued investment in infrastructure and workforce development for sustainable long-term growth.
