Enthusiastic announcement from White Desert
White Desert, the expedition company operating in Antarctica, proudly presents The Dr. Jones Collection. Starting in September 2025, this series will unveil various South American itineraries, beginning with a stunning journey from Peru to Patagonia.
These unique trips navigate the globe beyond the Polar Regions for the first time, blending the elegance of 1940s aviation with exhilarating movie-set experiences. Passengers will fly aboard a luxuriously refurbished Dakota aircraft that is capable of landing on remote airstrips, thus accessing some of South America’s least seen landscapes with comfort and style.
Each destination is curated for its rarity, ensuring a rich variety of scenery across just 12 days.
The itinerary features:
- Starting in Peru: Guests will explore the magnificent Gocta waterfall, the third highest worldwide, and hike through lush Amazonian cloud forests in search of ancient mummies. This adventure concludes at the newly established Dune Camp, situated beside a breathtaking oasis, perfect for diving for prized fan shells.
- In the Atacama Desert: The adventure continues with incredible stargazing opportunities and hikes through stunning canyons to relaxing volcanic hot springs.
- In the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia: Riders will experience authentic gaucho lifestyle amidst the towering glaciers that plummet into the sea.
“Just like our efforts in Antarctica, I aimed to craft a journey that is both thrilling and luxurious—Dr. Jones achieves this balance perfectly,” commented White Desert’s Founder Patrick Woodhead. “Even during our reconnaissance, we discovered landscapes I didn’t know existed; they were simply surreal!”
