Radisson Hotel Group Introduces Its First Two Verified Net Zero Hotels
Radisson Hotel Group has launched its first two hotels to achieve Verified Net Zero status, marking a significant step in sustainable hospitality.
Radisson Hotel Group proudly introduces its first two hotels that have attained Verified Net Zero status, meeting the 2040 requirements of the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels. The properties, located in Oslo and Manchester, are taking significant steps to eliminate Scope 1 & 2 emissions, and significantly reduce Scope 3 emissions, all aligned with the GHG protocol. These hotels also utilize Nature Based Solutions to offset remaining emissions.
The renovation of Park Inn by Radisson Manchester City Centre will lead to its transformation into Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, completing its transition on May 19, 2025. Additionally, the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo City Centre will be updated to Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, opening in July 2025.
This initiative positions Radisson Hotel Group at the forefront of sustainable hospitality. The Verified Net Zero program encompasses the carbon footprint from energy use and the operational and supply chain footprint. Key actions include using 100% renewable energy, re-evaluating supply chains, and offsetting remaining emissions via partners like Agreena.
With unique features such as low-carbon menus and a minimal waste policy, guests can enjoy a sustainable stay, knowing their hotel visit has a net zero carbon footprint.
By 2050, Radisson Hotel Group aims to achieve Net Zero, reaffirming its commitment to reducing emissions and reshaping the future of hospitality.
