The Grand Atlantic Hotel Introduces Beachfront Delegate Package

The Grand Atlantic Hotel launches a new delegate package combining meetings with a beach clean-up initiative.

The Grand Atlantic Hotel, located in Weston-super-Mare, has launched a new initiative called the ‘Boardroom to Beachfront’ delegate package, aimed at promoting sustainability and team-building. This unique offering allows companies to hold meetings while participating in a three-hour beach clean-up to address the issue of single-use plastic pollution along the coastline.

As the largest hotel in the area with 72 bedrooms and a meeting capacity of 150 delegates, the Grand Atlantic provides all necessary equipment for participants to collect and dispose of litter during meetings.

Wayne Entwistle, the hotel’s General Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative: “We are elevating our commitment to sustainability with this new package. It’s a privilege to collaborate with our partners to uphold the beauty of Weston-super-Mare’s beachfront and positively impact the environment while delivering meaningful experiences for our guests.”

Sophie Chappell from Life’s a Beach commented, “We are excited to collaborate with The Grand Atlantic to enhance the reputation of Weston-super-Mare as a sustainable destination. Our team is dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and believes that accommodation providers play a crucial role in protecting our coastlines.”

In recognition of their sustainability efforts, the Grand Atlantic was awarded the Bronze Green Tourism Award in 2024 and designated a Plastic-free Business Champion for its initiatives to reduce single-use plastics.
