Thailand’s interprovincial Transport Company has announced its intentions to enhance cross-border travel through its existing services. The firm operates 11 routes to neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia, aiming to boost the number of tourists traveling between Thailand and its regional neighbors.
As a state enterprise under the Transport Ministry, the company also manages 56 domestic routes across the country, with an average of 233 trips made daily.
Atthawit Rakjamroon, the company’s acting president, stated on January 24, 2025, that these cross-border routes play a crucial role in facilitating travel for Thai, Laotian, and Cambodian individuals. This initiative is in line with the Thai government’s goal to promote tourism within Thailand and its neighboring regions throughout the year.
Currently, the company operates nine bus routes to Laos, including:
- Nong Khai – Vientiane
- Udon Thani – Vientiane
- Ubon Ratchathani – Pakse
- Mukdahan – Savannakhet

- Udon Thani – Nong Khai – Vang Vieng
- Loei – Luang Prabang
Additionally, it offers two routes to Cambodia: Bangkok - Siem Reap, and Bangkok - Phnom Penh. These routes manage an average of 3,000 passengers daily, a figure that’s seen significant growth since the easing of pandemic restrictions.
