Vietjet Announces Strong Q1 2025 Financial Results

Vietjet experiences a notable profit increase, driven by international growth and operational excellence.

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has revealed a remarkable 24% year-on-year increase in consolidated profit for Q1 2025, fueled by robust international expansion and exceptional operational performance, solidifying the airline’s leadership in regional connectivity.

Key Highlights:

  • The airline is set to launch direct flights from Singapore to Phu Quoc by month’s end, complementing existing routes from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, totaling 78 single-leg flights weekly.
  • According to the Q1 2025 financial report, Vietjet recorded an air revenue of VND17.92 trillion with a pre-tax profit of VND820 billion, reflecting a 25% YoY growth.
  • Consolidated revenue reached VND17.952 trillion, and pre-tax profit amounted to VND836 billion, representing a 24% YoY increase.
  • The airline’s ancillary revenue surpassed VND6.223 trillion, accounting for more than 35% of total income.
  • Total assets as of March 31 reached VND98.766 trillion, showcasing a healthy financial position with a debt-to-equity ratio of 2.12 and a liquidity ratio of 1.5.

Performance Overview:

  • Vietjet operated nearly 38,700 flights in the first three months, transporting over 6.87 million passengers, signifying YoY growth exceeding 12% and 9% respectively.
  • The fleet was expanded with two new aircraft, bringing the total to 106 modern planes.
  • The airline achieved a seat load factor of 87% and a technical reliability rate of 99.72%.
  • Recently, Vietjet announced four new international routes linking Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major Chinese cities (Beijing, Guangzhou) and Indian cities (Bengaluru, Hyderabad).
  • Upcoming routes include Phu Quoc—Singapore starting May 30, and Ho Chi Minh City—Auckland projected to begin in September 2025.

Other Highlights:

  • Vietjet commenced 2025 with its first flight to the United States, initiating $14 billion partnerships.
  • With existing partnerships valued at nearly $50 billion, Vietjet signed a $300 million aircraft financing deal with Carlyle Aviation Partners.
  • In addition to business achievements, the airline delivered over 60 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Myanmar and collaborated with a bank to provide 500 homes for underprivileged families in Vietnam.
