Thailand: An Ideal Destination for Muslim Travelers
The Tourism Authority of Thailand promotes the nation as a top Muslim-friendly travel destination at ATM 2025.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) promotes Thailand as a premier destination for Muslim travelers during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025.
TAT’s involvement in the event aligns with the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 initiative.
In this event, TAT announced collaborations with major GCC airlines such as Emirates and Etihad Airways to enhance connectivity and launch co-branded marketing campaigns that highlight Thailand’s luxury and wellness offerings.
These initiatives are part of TAT’s objective to host over one million visitors from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) by 2025.
According to the governor of TAT, Thapanee Kiatphaibool: “Thailand is committed to providing an inclusive and seamless travel experience for Muslim travelers. We have established a comprehensive network of Halal-certified dining options, prayer spots in major airports and shopping centers, and luxury accommodations that incorporate private and gender-segregated facilities. These elements position Thailand as an attractive option for the Muslim travel market.”
Tailored Travel Packages
For ATM 2025, TAT introduced customized travel packages catering to families, newlyweds, and wellness enthusiasts from the GCC region. These experiences emphasize privacy, cultural discovery, shopping, and relaxation, aligning with the needs and preferences of Muslim visitors.
In the previous year, Thailand welcomed over 956,000 visitors from the MEA, marking a 25.6% rise from the prior year. The nation remains a favored destination for affluent Middle Eastern travelers who prefer longer stays and personalized travel experiences.
TAT is promoting the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 at ATM, featuring year-long festivals, international sporting events, and exclusive travel benefits. The campaign’s key priorities include sports tourism, wellness, culture, fine dining, and luxury, each designed to provide immersive and personalized experiences, showcasing Thailand’s dedication to sustainable and innovative tourism.
Discover Thailand
The campaign spotlights five “Must-Do Experiences”: Must Taste, Must Try, Must Buy, Must Seek, and Must See, encouraging travelers to explore deeper into Thailand’s cultural heritage beyond conventional tourist trails.
Kiatphaibool added: “The Middle East is well-acquainted with our renowned offerings, but we are excited to introduce fresh perspectives, including the Thai Craft Destinations concept and Hidden Gem Cities, which highlight authentic local artistry, culture, and gastronomy, revealing the true essence of Thailand.”
TAT’s initiatives are backed by Thailand’s sustainable tourism strategy, which adheres to the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economic model, supporting eco-friendly travel, community involvement, and cultural conservation, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a leader in responsible tourism.
