Macau Celebrates Milestone in Travel with MITE 2025
The 13th Macao International Travel Expo (MITE) marks a significant achievement with record attendance and participation.
The 13th Macao International Travel Expo (MITE) has proven to be the event’s biggest to date.
The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) reports that, on top of the 755 travel and tourism businesses represented at the event and 500 buyers in attendance, visitors get to browse at a record-breaking 1,502 booths set up across three halls of The Venetian Macau.
Speaking at the evening reception for partners and participants, MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes stated: “This year, we have made MITE a much more international affair. This edition has brought together both old and new participants from the Greater China Area, from Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, as well as the Americas.”
Fernandes added that MITE offers novel opportunities for all participants, establishing a premier platform for both tourism professionals and consumers alike.
Leveraging a city’s advantages
The MGTO director pointed out that Macao strives to showcase an innovative programme every year. She emphasized: “The MITE programme leverages our city’s unique advantages as a platform to foster connectivity between Macao, Mainland China, and the international market.”
As MITE is Macao’s flagship tourism event, it aims to provide extensive opportunities for both the local and global travel trade. In this context, MITE takes full advantage of Macao’s long-standing commitment to its Tourism+ offerings to its source markets.
By doing so, Macao is on track, getting even closer to its aspiration to become a world center for tourism and leisure.
