Philippine Airlines (PAL) is planning to reopen the PAL Aviation School, aiming to become a key center for training new pilots. This initiative is forged through a strategic partnership with the notable Airways Aviation Group, a global flight training organization.

By reestablishing this training center, PAL hopes to provide top-tier pilot education, reinforcing their long-standing dedication to operational excellence, safety, and workforce development.

This collaboration underlines PAL’s commitment to ensuring that its cadets receive consistent, high-quality training that adheres to leading global aviation standards.

Backed by a Strong Record

After a thorough evaluation process, PAL selected Airways Aviation due to its proven success in delivering exceptional, internationally recognized pilot training programs.

Stanley K Ng, the President and Chief Operating Officer of PAL, stated: “Airways Aviation met our stringent requirements and demonstrated their robust emphasis on safety culture and competency-based training methodologies. We value the importance of in-house training in shaping pilots with a global outlook, armed with the exceptional skills and innovative spirit required to meet the challenges of the future.”

Additionally, Carlos Luis Fernandez, OIC and Executive Vice-President at PAL, emphasized, “Our revitalized Aviation School will help develop this vital workforce: individuals who are not only outstanding in their craft but also globally minded citizens committed to building a sustainable future for aviation.”

This collaboration signifies a major advancement in fostering educational and training relationships between the Philippines and Australia, aiming to enhance both countries’ contributions to a safer, more skilled global aviation workforce.

Romy Hawatt, founder and chair of Airways Aviation Group, expressed pride in being selected as the main training provider for upcoming Philippine Airlines pilots, stating that this relationship is not only a recognition of their training capabilities but also a reflection of shared values and vision.

The first group of cadets is set to begin their foundational training and assessment in the Philippines, continuing with advanced aviation study and practical training in Australia, supported by expert faculty and cutting-edge technology.

Philippine Airlines is committed to nurturing local talents, merging domestic investments with leading practices globally to equip its pilots for high levels of safety and professionalism.
