Philippine Airlines has announced the appointment of Richard Nuttall, a seasoned professional in the aviation sector, as its new president effective May 19, 2025. This strategic leadership change aims to enhance PAL’s presence in the global aviation sphere.

Nuttall will succeed Stanley Ng, who assumes the role of Vice President within the PAL Holdings Inc, alongside his position on the airline’s Board of Directors. Ng anticipates providing strategic direction to elevate the airline’s service and profitability.

Dr. Lucio C Tan, PAL’s chairman and CEO, expressed confidence in Nuttall’s leadership, noting the airline’s ongoing commitment to collaborate with top talents in the industry to foster sustainable growth.

In his new role, Nuttall will report directly to Dr. Lucio C Tan, alongside Lucio C Tan III, the President and COO of PAL Holdings.

Prior to joining PAL, Nuttall held leadership positions across various airlines globally, including a successful tenure as the CEO of SriLankan Airlines, where he played a crucial role in the airline’s turnaround.

Nuttall stated, “I am honoured to join Philippine Airlines at such a pivotal time. The airline has accomplished so much in recent years, and I look forward to building on that progress as we explore new avenues for growth.”

The airline is optimistic about its future, bolstered by leadership stability and operational advancements, including the acquisition of new aircraft models aimed at enhancing long-haul services.
