Sands China Celebrates 10 Years of Supporting Local SMEs with Open Day
A landmark event marking the tenth anniversary of Sands China's support for local small and medium enterprises took place with significant local participation.
Sands China celebrated a decade of supporting local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during an event held on April 17, 2025, at The Londoner Macao. This significant milestone coincided with the 2025 Sands China Local Supplier Open Day, which welcomed 250 local SMEs.
The open day fostered connections between Sand China’s procurement representatives and Macao businesses, providing potential suppliers with valuable insights into procurement opportunities across various departments of Sands China.
This event was part of a broader series aimed at commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme, initiated in partnership with the Macao Chamber of Commerce. Other initiatives include a culinary festival, a shopping carnival, and training programs geared towards improving local SMEs’ digital capabilities.
Moreover, Sands China is set to launch an innovative training initiative aimed at enhancing local SME marketing skills in digital platforms, supporting their transformation in the modern business landscape. Additionally, the company is backing the 2025 Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, aiming to empower the city’s youth.
As Grant Chum, CEO of Sands China Ltd, noted, “We are honored to celebrate our 10-year milestone… while actively supporting local SME suppliers.”
The Local Suppliers Programme seeks to expand procurement possibilities for enterprises classified as ‘Made in Macao’, small or micro suppliers, and youth-led businesses as part of the efforts to diversify Macao’s economy.
Vice President of Macao Chamber of Commerce, Hoi Lok Man, remarked, “The success of local SMEs is key to Macao’s economic prosperity… Our collaboration with Sands China has transcended mere commercial interests.”
