Velocity Frequent Flyer Boosts Travel Benefits for Virgin Australia's Long-Haul Flights

Velocity Frequent Flyer introduces enhanced rewards for passengers flying Virgin Australia's long-haul flights, including exciting new perks.

Velocity Frequent Flyer has strengthened its offerings for Australian travelers, providing enhanced travel benefits on Virgin Australia’s long-haul international flights (VA1–29). Whether heading to Europe or other distant places, Velocity makes the experience more enjoyable with new perks.

Enhanced Travel Benefits for Velocity Members

Following an increase in Reward Seats for Velocity members traveling from major Australian cities to Doha until February 2026, additional perks have now been introduced for travelers on Virgin Australia’s long-haul services.

One notable feature is the Australian airline-first offering of a USD$20 “Dine on Us” voucher for Velocity members, which can be utilized at Hamad International Airport, recognized as the World’s Best Airport in the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards. Travelers must include their Velocity Frequent Flyer number during booking to redeem this meal offer.

Perks for All Membership Levels

Velocity members at any tier can enjoy several advantages:

  • Business Upgrades: From July 1, 2025, members can use Points to request upgrades from Economy Flex to Business Class for Virgin Australia’s long-haul flights, up to 24 hours before departure. Gold and Platinum members can also upgrade from both Flex and Choice fares, with access to Qatar Airways’ renowned Qsuite.
  • Seat Selection: Gold and Platinum members can book Preferred and Extra Legroom seats for free for themselves and up to eight guests. Red and Silver members have discounts of 10% and 20% on seat selections for certain fares.
  • Family Pooling: Points and Status Credits can be combined with up to five family members at the same address, allowing families to earn rewards more quickly.

Exclusive Benefits for Gold & Platinum Members

Gold and Platinum members will receive even more perks when flying with Virgin Australia to Doha:

  • Lounge Access: Free access to Qatar Airways lounges and partner lounges.
  • Extra Baggage Allowance: Additional checked baggage based on fare type and route.
  • Priority Services: Priority baggage, check-in, and boarding for faster airport experiences.
