Easter Travel Trends 2025: Insights from Trevolution Group

An overview of expected travel trends for Easter 2025, highlighting popular destinations and booking behaviors.

As Easter 2025 approaches, the travel industry is infused with vibrant energy, presenting crucial insights on this year’s travel patterns.

According to a report by Trevolution Group, international travel is on the rise, making this Easter one of the most active seasons yet, with long trips, new overseas locations, and unique cultural experiences leading the way.

American travelers are increasingly looking for culturally significant international destinations to enjoy their Easter break. Adventurers and nature enthusiasts are booking trips to picturesque places such as the Swiss Alps, Scotland, and Japan, while others are drawn to traditional celebrations in iconic cities like Florence, Seville, Athens, and Jerusalem.

Families are arranging visits to popular destinations like Disneyland Paris, and theme parks in Orlando and London; meanwhile, beach enthusiasts are opting for tropical paradises such as the Maldives, Canary Islands, and Bali. Top five global destinations for Trevolution Group’s clients this Easter are the Philippines, India, Italy, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

The prime travel period falls between April 16-20, with the highest number of travelers departing on the 16th, surpassing the normal averages by 25%. Notably, only 6% of vacationers booked their trips more than 90 days in advance. A considerable 57% made their travel plans within one to three months ahead, and 37% booked trips within a month, reflecting a 25% increase in last-minute Easter travel.

In terms of demographics, the largest group of travelers consists of individuals aged 40 to 64, composing 38% of Easter travel, followed by the ages of 25 to 39 and 65+, each at 19%. Children and teenagers (0-24) make up an additional 24%, indicating a robust trend toward family vacations.

Regarding travel expenditures for Easter, the report found that economy airfare prices are rising this April, averaging between $706 and $761, peaking on April 19. A 20% month-on-month increase in airfares suggests that budget travelers should plan and book flights at least a month in advance, favoring mid-week and early or late flights for better pricing.

The report also indicates a 45% surge in holiday weekend bookings, with a 30% rise in domestic travel and road trips. As more tourists blend leisure with business, Easter 2025 appears to be a season devoted to profound exploration and connecting experiences.
