Laheq Island: Pioneering Resort Living in Saudi Arabia

Red Sea Global (RSG) has unveiled Laheq Island, a groundbreaking residential community on The Red Sea, marking the introduction of island-living to Saudi Arabia.

Laheq Island is designed with a central focus on resort-style living and is set to welcome residents by 2028. This development goes beyond the initial Phase One of The Red Sea project, which began hosting guests in 2023 and currently operates five hotels alongside an international airport offering regular flights.

“Whether it’s for visitors or future residents, Laheq will provide an enriching community that fosters connections and friendships,” stated John Pagano, the Group CEO of RSG.

The island encompasses 400 hectares of stunning beaches and vibrant coral reefs, positioned within the world’s fourth largest barrier reef, hosting over 2,000 unique fish species.

Luxurious Living Opportunities

Laheq Island will feature private residences built with natural materials, providing excellent amenities such as:

  • A 115-berth marina with sailing and watersports schools.
  • A racket club and a fitness center, as well as extensive parks and an 18-hole golf course.
  • An energetic souq offering a diverse selection of local products.

Dining options will range from casual beach clubs to fine dining establishments, each featuring fresh, locally sourced cuisine.

Moreover, the island will house two luxury hotels: one will focus on wellness and the other will cater to a vibrant lifestyle for adventurous travelers.

Sustainable Architecture and Tourism

Laheq’s architecture, designed by Foster + Partners, employs sustainable practices and emphasizes green spaces. The centerpiece, known as “The Ring”, is an 800-meter diameter structure surrounded by luxury apartments and hotels.

The commitment to regenerative tourism ensures not only the preservation but enhancement of the district’s natural beauty, aiming for The Red Sea destination to operate entirely on renewable energy by the completion of all planned developments by 2030.
