Carnival Cruise Line introduces two new ships, continuing its legacy with enhanced family-friendly features.

With over 50 years of delighting passengers, Carnival Cruise Line made a significant announcement at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025, launching two new ships: Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale. These new ships are set to debut in 2027 and 2028 respectively, and are designed to honor Carnival’s legacy while integrating innovative features.

Paying Tribute to Carnival’s Heritage

The Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale are named after two of Carnival’s original ships, continuing the brand’s tradition. President Christine Duffy stated, “These spectacular additions to our fleet reflect the respect we have for our history while looking ahead to an exciting future.”

Carnival Festivale: A Musical Journey

Launching in spring 2027, Carnival Festivale will feature a music theme with multiple musical experiences across the ship. The ship will be homeported in Port Canaveral, Florida, and will offer new itineraries to private destinations like Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay. Key features include Sunsation Point, an outdoor adventure area replacing the BOLT rollercoaster, featuring:

  • WaterWorks Ultra: The largest water park with new slides and family attractions.
  • Adventure Play: Mini golf, a ropes course, and arcade games.
  • Evening Entertainment: Select nights will see exciting activities and DJs.

Carnival Tropicale: Continuing the Tradition

Set to launch in 2028, Carnival Tropicale will continue the features introduced by Carnival Festivale, enhancing its family-friendly offerings with 1,000 interconnecting staterooms and a dedicated area for babies. Duffy remarked, “We sail more families and more kids than any other cruise line… Sunsation Point and WaterWorks Ultra are going to be over-the-top with activities.”
