Pink Soup Festival
The Vilnius Pink Soup Festival is set to return for its third year on May 31, 2025. Last year’s event attracted over 42,000 attendees, with this year’s festivities promising to be even more exhilarating, combining traditional elements with innovative features.
The colorful Vilnius Pink Soup Fest will once again transform the city into a vibrant celebration of all things pink!
The festival pays tribute to Lithuania’s cherished cold pink soup, šaltibarščiai (pronounced as shul-tee-BAR-shay), which was awarded the title of the world’s best cold soup by Taste Atlas. Last year even saw a friendly competition spark a rap song concerning the soup’s heritage between Lithuanians and Latvians.
This month’s festival marks the unofficial kickoff to summer in Vilnius, inviting locals and visitors to enjoy the warm spring air and the delightful aroma of šaltibarščiai.
Key Highlights:
- Pink Parade: Attendees are encouraged to don dazzling pink outfits or creative soup-themed costumes while parading through the city.
- Pink Waiters’ Marathon: Bartenders and waiters race through the streets while balancing bowls of pink soup, aiming for speed without spills.
- Gastronomic Experience: Restaurants will offer exciting variations of pink soup, quirky cocktails, and delectable desserts throughout the festival.
Enjoy workshops, live music, and family-friendly events that will engage all ages. The Vilnius Pink Soup Festival is not just an event; it’s an immersive experience in the heart of Lithuanian culture.
