Travelex Renews Partnership with Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for an Additional Five Years

Travelex is extending its contract at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, enhancing services and expanding its footprint.

Travelex has announced a five-year contract extension at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, which builds upon over twenty years of partnership with this major aviation hub. This extension will bring new facilities, including a new store and two ATMs, to the airport, resulting in a total of 11 stores and 50 ATMs.

The renewal comes as Schiphol Airport experienced a significant increase in passenger traffic, serving 66.8 million customers in 2024—an 8% rise from 2023, solidifying its global ranking as the third busiest airport based on international passenger results. Since entering the airport in 2004, Travelex has become the preferred foreign exchange partner as of 2022.

Customers at Travelex’s Schiphol locations can purchase more than 50 different currencies or collect cash they have ordered online from a dedicated pick-up desk.

In 2021, Travelex opened two newly designed concept stores in Schiphol, offering an open layout with more ATMs than traditional stores, enhancing convenience and access to travel funds for travelers.

In terms of services, Travelex holds a major position at Schiphol, assisting over 80% of airport retailers with efficient cash handling and offering both foreign currencies and euros to ensure smooth operations in one of Europe’s busiest airports.

Leonard Stolk, Managing Director at Travelex Europe, stated: “We have had the pleasure of serving millions of travelers at Schiphol over the last 20 years, and we’re delighted to be extending our partnership for another five years. Schiphol is one of the world’s most prominent international airports, and our store and ATM network means greater ease of access to travel money for customers transiting as well as those ordering online wanting the convenience of collecting at the airport.”
